Free: Live storytelling class for underrepresented voices
Funded by a grant from the Orange County Arts Commission, a free live storytelling class that centers underrepresented voices, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled folks and anyone else whose voice has been suppressed. Participants will not be required to tell an identity-based story.
In this class, we’ll explore the art and joy of live storytelling (think The Moth or The Monti). We’ll mine our memory and experiences for true stories to share and learn techniques to make them entertaining and meaningful. We’ll get comfortable telling stories in a group setting, make new friends, and hear some amazing stories.
This class is for anyone who has a story to tell, wants to feel more comfortable in their body, and is ready to use their voice (or wants to be ready!). It's appropriate for all levels of storytelling experience, with beginners especially welcomed.
This class starts tomorrow, you can still sign-up!
Location: The ArtsCenter, 400 Roberson St, Carrboro, NC 27510
