Tricks and Treats: The Holiday Season Begins
Enjoy bad art all month long with a new market, new classes, and a Halloween-themed Bad Art Club.
Fall is upon us! I am enjoying October and the beginning of the holiday season. In one week I am headed to John C. Campbell Folk School to learn letterpress. I put my “Frankenteddy" Beanie Babie out and I’m drawing each day for Inktober, a 31-day drawing challenge that many artists participate in each October.
This month, TJ and I are working to bring you a fantastic, new, one-time-only market. Thanks to a grant from the Orange County Arts Commission, the Bad Art Market & Expo (BAM!) is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 12-4 p.m. at Eno Arts Mill.
The Bad Art Market: 15 artists, 4 hours, 100s of works of art.
I will feature BAM artists each week in this newsletter so you can get a sneak peek at the art featured at the market. I am very grateful to work with a talented and generous group of artists and arts supporters (like you). To see BAM updates on Instagram, follow TJ’s account: @lovingyouquietly.
Bad Art Market Featured Artists
These artists are going to be at BAM! Come see more of their work and speak to them about their creative practice on Oct. 21 at Eno Arts Mill.

1 Day, 2 Classes : LGBTQ+ Art and Halloween-Themed Bad Art Club
On Saturday, October 28, TJ and I are facilitating Art for LGBTQ+ Rights from 10 am-1 pm at Eno Arts Mill. This class is open to LGBTQ+ folks and allies! Join us to learn about queer art and art that focuses on queer identities and rights. If you want to make a whole day of art, join us from 2-5 pm for Bad Art Club.
At October’s Bad Art Club we are focusing on tarot, oracle, and playing card inspired art. We will also try Inktober drawing activities. No guest artist, just me!
This is our last non-mask-required class of the year. November and December will be masked only to increase access for all. If you know folks who need to access masked-only spaces, November and December are the best BACs for them.
