The End of an Inky Journey
A final excerpt from my week at the John C. Campbell Folk School learning printmaking and letterpress.
The final stage of letterpress was combining text and images to create a broadside. The image following this text is lead type and woodblocks locked into a layout with wood and magnets. I already printed my woodblock carving of the devil and angel circling the world, so I had to print around that image. And yes, I spelled one of the main words wrong and didn’t catch it til after all my prints were done :) #badart
All in all, I created over 100 unique prints using a variety of presses, methods, and ideas. These prints are all available for sale.
I am vending in TJ’s studio for the Makers at the Mill Holiday Bazaar at Eno Arts Mill next Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10 am-5 pm. Stop by and check out our new work!
Some of my prints are matted on Tarot encyclopedia pages, shiny chrome pages, and thick matte paper.
