Joining the Board of CoLab Studio

I find it rewarding and important to serve on boards and councils. In college, I served on the founding board of F.A.R.M. Cafe as part of AppState’s Board Fellows program. Here I received mentorship on how to be on a board, and raised money to open the pay-what-you-can cafe.
After graduating, my colleague Rep. Park Cannon recommended me to serve on Georgia’s Prevention and Care Council. We focused on evaluating and strengthening the Georgia's HIV Prevention Plan.
Most recently, I completed 2 years on the Volunteer Raleigh Advisory Board led by Commissioner Tara Waters. I successfully advocated moving to a non-hierarchical board structure. I also advocated for increased grant funding and the inclusion of more LGBT and non-religious volunteer groups.
I am thrilled to join the Board of CoLab Studio in Raleigh, where I will focus on grant writing. If you want to learn more or contribute to my favorite studio, respond to this email!
