This is it, the Creative Career Intensive 🎯
I invite you to join me for my most ambitious course yet.
TJ Mundy and I are teaching a 5-week intensive course we are extremely excited to present. The Creative Career Intensive starts Jan. 10 at Eno Arts Mill in Hillsborough.
Design, Strategy, & Marketing: Creative Career Intensive
In this creative and professional development course, we will cover:
Week 1: Canva & Using Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Canva is THE design software used by communications and graphic design teams at top institutions such as Duke University and UNC, where TJ and I have worked in-house. Canva recently integrated AI into its designs, and we will look at these features and discuss the ethics of using AI. Participants will receive my curated overview of the current state of AI with over 25 article summaries and resources to get you caught up on the tech changing the way we work.
Week 2: Graphic Design Essentials
We will dive deeper into the art and science of graphic design, exploring the principles of composition, color, and typography. This week includes a special focus on graphic design best practices and accessibility. Accessibility is of top importance in design today, and makes your work more inclusive for people with all abilities on all devices. At the end of class, participants will receive my top 30 tips on graphic design, social media, and accessibility.
Week 3: Product Design
This is the class where we design products to sell! Whether you're interested in physical or digital products, you can create stickers, clothing, art prints, digital books, and anything you can imagine! At the end of class, students will gain access to the Content Ideas Vault from Alt Marketing School, with over 50 ready-made ideas for marketing your product.
Week 4: Social Media Strategy & Design
Social media strategy is what led me to move the UNC School of Social Work's Continuing Education Program to archive all social media channels and focus solely on LinkedIn, moving our average follower count from 100 to 2,400. TJ and I have used social media to build brands, sell out events, and communicate our passions. In week 4, we will curate compelling content, grow your audience, and create a consistent brand image on social media.
Week 5: Marketing for Creatives
Our final class is all about driving SALES. Elevate your marketing game with this comprehensive class. Understand the fundamentals of marketing, develop targeted campaigns, and use your creative skills to reach your specific audience. Learn how to measure your success and refine your strategies for maximum impact. Finish out class with access to the Creative Ideation Portal by Monday Monday (known for creating the book “How To Not Always Be Working”).
This intensive is approachable, practical, and rewarding. Each class you will have access to hands-on support from 2 instructors that are specialists in our fields.
The Creative Career Intensive is $500 for 5 weeks of 2-hour classes with a cohort of fellow creatives, and free resources at the end of each class.
